DELHI BLUE POTTERY TRUST

Late Sardar Gurcharan Singh ,the founder and pioneer studio potter of india,started the Delhi Blue Art Pottery in 1952,and founded the trust in 1991. The trust was founded with the aim of promoting and propagating studio ceramics. Since it's inception, Delhi Blue Pottery Trust has been instrumental in changing the face of studio ceramics in India through it's multifarious activities, constantly endeavoring to connect ceramists all over the world.

With more than fifty years of experience in the field of ceramics, the trust has in the last four years successfully hosted four major events, titled- Water, 101 potters of India (2002), Peace and Harmony (2004), Elements (2006) and Impressions(2006) 25 victorian potters from Australia, the last three being International events.

Since 1991, Delhi Blue has also been organizing ceramic workshops, talks, lectures, demonstrations and slide shows by Indian and international artists. The Trust runs two ceramic studios, where they train students.

Eminent potter Sardar Mansimran Singh, son of Gurcharan Singh heads the trust, suported by seven other trustees.

In 1998, the Trust published "Pottery and the Legacy of Sardar Gurcharan Singh" which traces the history of pottery in India and documents the life and work of Sardar Gurcharan Singh.
